Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]Entel understands that legislation and its development are a necessary context that businesses must operate it. The overall approach of the Company is to observe and, at the same time, seek opportunities for collaboration in the improvement of the legal environment. For this reason, it works together with unions and the authorities, as well as with other companies, universities, and study centers, to explore the opportunities that arise, contributing our vision and experience when changes are proposed, always in an open and transparent manner. These efforts are primarily focused on industry-specific issues, including spectrum issues and concession rights, and on promoting the deployment of networks with 5G technology.
In terms of climate change related regulation, Entel is more reactive that proactive since this is not seen as a public policy area that has the potential to create significant risk for the Company. As a result, Entel has not taken a leadership nor an opposing role in terms of the development of climate change policy in Chile and Perú. As a result, the main strategies implemented by the Company to ensure that its activities that may generate a policy influence are to monitor the positions of the associations in which it is a member, as well as relevant public policy, such as the NDC and climate strategy of the Chilean government, to ensure that these memberships are consistent with the climate change strategy of the Company and that it maintains compliance with relevant regulations.
