In this regard, CNHI has a long tradition of involvement in sector associations, such as: ACEA, the EU automotive sector association, Hydrogen Europe, or EUCAR which support the public debate and legislation to foster the clean energy transition and the future zero-emission mobility.
CNHI is also currently engaged in research projects on decarbonization, autonomous driving, connectivity and data management (see 2021 SR p.132-141). The complete list of the CNHI's membership of associations is available in the 2021 SR p.266.

The highest responsibility for CNHI's Institutional Relations lies with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The functions in charge of relations with the institutions focus on key issues, such as decarbonization of transport sector, reduction of emissions from vehicles and production, digitalization and innovation, safety, and the sustainable development and modernization of agriculture, expressing CNHI's corporate positioning on key files (sustainability, climate change, renewable energy, circular economy, transportation systems, safety, innovation, and the future of agriculture).
The functions of each geographic area are responsible for:
â–  monitoring policy trends and engaging with public authorities, trade associations, international organizations, business sector, and NGOs in the institutional and regulatory decision-making processes
■ protecting and enhancing CNHI's profile and strategies, by proactively participating in public dialogue
■ supporting CNHI's business goals by addressing specific business issues and identifying opportunities at institutional level.
