Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]ALTEN strives to ensure that its activities, both direct and indirect, are consistent with its overall climate change strategy.
On a day-to-day basis, the Quality and Performance department defines the Group's environmental policy and assists subsidiaries in identifying and implementing concrete actions for building management, carbon footprint regulation and sustainable use of natural resources.
ALTEN has set up different thematic committees to make sure its direct and indirect activities are consistent with its strategy:
- the CSR communication committee gathers HR, CSR, solidarity and Communication teams: it makes sure the activities (new partnerships, commitments, participation in forums and associations) are consistent with the values of the group, in particular with climate change: as an example, Alten recently refused to sponsor a project from an association because it was juged too polluting by the CSR communication committee.
- the CSR and ethics committee of the Executive committee gives the final validation.
- the Green IT committee: The aim of this committee is to deploy ALTEN Green IT strategy within all our activities.
- the Eco Mobility committee: This committee deals both with professional travels and employee commuting. It is in charge of deploying Alten strategy on eco mobility and of enriching action plans
- the Responsible Purchasing : work group: this work group is composed of compliance, CSR and purchasing team. It manages it group responsible purchasing policy and follows up suppliers evaluations topics.
- the ISO 14001 contributors network : managed by the Environmental Managers: it makes sure the Group Activity on its building is aligned with its environmental policy
- the CSR correspondent network: managed by the CSR manager, is in charge of deploying and following the CSR strategy within the group.
In addition, the group has a rich extra financial dialogue with its stakeholders. The group answers transparently to all CSR requests and reports regularly. This enables alten to make sure its activity are in line with the expectation of its clients and of the administration.
Finally, the Management Review aims to measure the consistency of Alten's strategy with respect to climate change. Once a year, the Management Review addresses
climate change issues by defining the direction of the strategy and considering its direct and indirect activities likely to influence policy.
