Various industries are establishing measures against the climate crisis, and the financial industry is also publicly announcing its determination with a sense of responsibility by making climate change-related declarations and establishing policies. In February 2021, NH Financial Group declared its commitment to coal-free finance, taking an active lead in sustainable net-zero growth, through which the Group will preemptively respond to the environmental crisis and offer eco-friendly financial services.
NHIS also does not participate in new project financing for construction of domestic and overseas coal power plants and prohibits the underwriting of new bonds that are issued by a special purpose company (SPC) for the construction of coal power plants in Korea and abroad. As a top-tier player in the capital market, we actively support the transition of coal power plants to renewables companies.
