三菱電機グループのサステナビリティの取組みは、三菱電機の執行役会議から委嘱を受け、経営企画及びサステナビリティを担当する執行役(CSO:Chief Strategy Officer)が委員長を務めるサステナビリティ委員会で方針・計画を決定しています。サステナビリティ委員会は三菱電機のコーポレート部門長や事業戦略担当部門長(経営企画室や人事部などの環境、社会、ガバナンス、事業戦略担当の34名[2023年4月1日時点])で構成されており、マテリアリティに基づく活動実績の把握や活動計画の決定、法改正への対応など、三菱電機グループの横断的な視点から議論を行い、取組みを推進しています。また、倫理・遵法、品質の確保・向上、環境保全活動、社会貢献活動、ステークホルダーの皆様とのコミュニケーションなどの具体的な取組みについては、担当部門が責任を持って推進しています。サステナビリティ委員会の事務局はサステナビリティ推進部が担当しています。三菱電機グループのサステナビリティの取組みを更に推進するため、2023年度から、サステナビリティ推進部を社長直轄組織としました。サステナビリティ委員会は原則として年に3回以上開催しており、議論の内容については、執行役会議にて経営層へ報告されています。2021年度からは議論の内容について、取締役会にも報告しています。取締役会では、サステナビリティへの取組みを三菱電機グループの「重要議題」として取り上げ、リスク管理及び収益機会としての観点から、独立社外取締役からも多様なご意見をいただきながら十分な議論を行うとともに、執行役の取組み状況についても監督を行っています。サステナビリティの取組み推進については、執行役の報酬指標の一つになっており、サステナビリティ・ESG関連領域等非財務事項での業績指標達成度はインセンティブ報酬へ反映されています。複数部門に関わるサステナビリティ課題に対して部門横断的に対応するため、サステナビリティ委員会の傘下に恒常的な会議体として「部会」、有期限の会議体として「プロジェクト」を設けています。「カーボンニュートラル部会」と「人権部会」の二つの部会については、法や社会からの要請に応え、取組みを推進しています。また、「統合報告書・法定開示対応検討プロジェクト」と「TCFD対応検討プロジェクト」を設け、活動項目の明確化、参画部門の役割の明確化、規範に則った情報開示等について検討しています。部会やプロジェクトは責任部門を中心に取組みを推進し、サステナビリティ委員会開催の都度、進捗を確認することとしています。また、サステナビリティ委員会で定めた方針・計画を共有・実行するため、社内各部門・国内外関係会社との連携を目的とした「サステナビリティ連絡会」を設置しています。

Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]The Officer of Corporate Environmental Sustainability Group is responsible for the consistency of all Mitsubishi Electric's environmental activities including those related to climate change. We are a board member of Liaison Group of Japanese Electrical and Electronics Industries for Global Warming Prevention. The members of Corporate Environmental Sustainability Group actively participate in industry association initiatives like these and obtain information by serving as a leadership role, such as by serving as the committee chairman. These efforts are supervised by the Officer of the Corporate Environmental Sustainability Group. Matters that directly or indirectly affect the company's environmental policy, including climate change, are reported to the Executive Officer in Charge of Environment in the monthly meeting, and judgement is given if necessary.
If policies, laws, or regulations do not conform to our company's policies, they shall be discussed within the industry association, taking the industry association's position into account, and public comments shall be made through the industry association as necessary to inform the government and regulatory authorities of our company's position.
