Lobbying Governance
Overall Assessment Analysis Score
Moderate Autoliv describes a clear process for aligning its industry-association lobbying with its climate commitments, noting that "the work is internally managed by the Sustainability team which is also responsible for defining and monitoring the climate change strategy, meaning full consistency between engagement, policy positions and strategic climate change positions," and that "when engaging through industry associations (e.g. European automotive supplier organization CLEPA), we align our position with our long-term commitments of carbon neutrality in own operations by 2030 and net-zero throughout the supply chain by 2040," with such positions "continuously discussed and aligned between key functions within Autoliv, in particular the Sustainability, Public Affairs and Communications teams." However, Autoliv does not disclose any equivalent governance for its direct lobbying activities or a specific individual or formal body overseeing alignment, and we found no evidence of board sign-off, recurring audit, or third-party review of its climate lobbying.
