NSK Ltd. maintains a multi-tiered governance structure for environmental and climate change matters, including a Core Values Committee that “identifies company-wide issues and discusses policies for promoting and strengthening the core values” and where “climate change-related matters are singled out from among environmental initiatives and are regularly reported to the Operating Committee and other committees by the Carbon Neutrality Department,” with “important measures [undergoing] deliberations by the Operating Committee before being submitted to the Board of Directors” which “oversees the NSK Group’s environmental issues by approving or rejecting and commenting on reports and proposals.” Although NSK notes that it “participates in the low carbon society execution plan of KEIDANREN” and submits the results to government bodies, the company does not disclose any governance process specific to lobbying or policy advocacy.
