Daiichi Jitsugyo Co Ltd has implemented a governance framework for sustainability, establishing its “Sustainability Committee” chaired by the Representative Director, President & CEO, with the Chief Sustainability Officer serving as officer in charge, and this committee “regularly monitors in-house initiatives” and “engages in the deliberation and consideration of future initiatives,” with its deliberations reported to the Board of Directors. In addition, the “Risk Management Committee performs a central role in DJK’s risk management” and monitors “climate change risk” alongside other risks. However, we found no evidence of any governance process that explicitly oversees or aligns the company’s lobbying activities, direct or indirect, and no policy, monitoring procedure, or designated individual or body is disclosed to manage or review lobbying alignment with climate or other policy goals.
