ESG위원회는 회사의 중장기 기후변화 대응전략 수립과 지속 가능한 성장을 위한 ESG 경영 관련 자문과 검토에 대한 책임을 갖고 있으며, 조직 기후관련 대응활동을 총괄합니다. 정기적으로 기후변화 대응 및 관리 현황을 모니터링하고 대응계획을 논의하고 있으며, 그 결과를 이사회에 보고하고 있습니다. 이와 함께 SK가스가 직면한 기후변화 관련 리스크를 파악 및 대응하기 위한 의사결정을 진행하고 있습니다.

SK가스는 ESG기반 경영 강화를 위해 2020년 지속가능경영위원회를 설치하였으며, 2021년 6월 ESG 위원회로 확대 개편하고 신규 위원을 선임했습니다. 이로써 기존의 기후변화 리스크 관리와 대응 기능이 이사회 산하 위원회로 확장되었으며, 이사회 책임경영 체제를 더욱 강화하게 되었습니다. SK가스는 이사회 산하에 감사위원회, 사외이사후보추천위원회, ESG위원회, 인사위원회 등 총 4개의 위원회를 두고 있으며, 다양한 책임과 권한을 위임하여 운영하고 있습니다. 각 위원회의 의장은 위원회의 운영현황에 대해 정기적으로 이사회에 보고하고 있습니다. ESG 위원회는 회사의 중장기 기후변화 관리 전략 수립과 지속성장을 위한 ESG기반 경영과 관련한 자문과 검토에 대한 책임을 갖고 있으며, 조직 내 기후관련 대응활동을 총괄합니다. 정기적/비정기적으로 기후변화 대응 및 관리 계획을 모니터링하고 이행 상황을 검토하여 향후 계획을 논의하고 있으며, 결과를 이사회에 보고하게 됩니다. 이와 함께 SK가스가 직면한 기후변화 관련 리스크의 관리와 평가, 경감을 위한 의사결정을 진행하고 있습니다. ESG위원회는 투자 및 사업 대상에서 재무적·비재무적 리스크를 사전에 검토하여 이사회에 보고합니다. 특히, financial Society, 시민단체 및 지역사회 등의 이해관계자와 사전 또는 사후 이슈가 발생할 수 있는 기후 관련 사안을 검토합니다. 나아가, 투자 및 사업대상의 활동으로 발생할 수 있는 환경적·사회적 리스크 수준을 평가하고 발생가능한 잠재적 리스크를 발굴하여 이에 대한 대응방안을 마련하고 이사회에 보고합니다.

Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]SK Gas's goal for Scope 1 and 2 is to achieve Net Zero by 2035, and will focus on direct reduction solutions such as improving facility efficiency and using medium and long-term hydrogen. Scope 3 is being measured in accordance with the SBTi standard of 2022 and will be managed with detailed objectives Based on the results.
The core of our Scope 3 reduction strategy is to transform the Business Portfolio into a decarbonized business. In the short term, LPG and LNG, which emit less carbon than other fossil fuels, will replace existing fossil fuels for transportation, industrial, and power generation, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In the long term, SK Gas will shift its portfolio to decarbonization businesses such as hydrogen and ammonia businesses.
In line with this strategic direction, engagement activities are being promoted. In the short term, SK Gas is actively pursuing engagement activities to identify existing customers using BC Oil as fuel and convert them into LPG with low greenhouse gas emissions. In the long term, SK Gas provides Net Zero Solution to customers through the decarbonization carbon business, and is also pursuing expansion of hydrogen charging stations and establishment of infrastructure for production and distribution of liquefied hydrogen through engagement activities with policymakers such as the Ministry of Environment, business places in the same industry, and the LPG Association.
In this process, the BOD deliberated on and decided to implement the decarbonization business transformation, and the aforementioned engagement activities were also finally decided by the BOD Based on the strategic direction, and the relevant organization regularly reports on the progress thereof.
