In the carbon-neutral action plan of each industry group, while setting targets for each industry group and working, the group strives to align its policies and strategies in the manner not to have confliction. On the other hand, in the event of inconsistency happening with consistency or strategy within the organization, it will be put on the agenda at Furukawa Electric Group Environmental Committee, which is a special committee of the Risk Management Committee, and discussions and deliberation on the response will be planned. The results will be promptly reported to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing all risks, including climate change, and ESG management in general. Risks in general include product quality problems, environmental problems such as soil pollution, filing of disputes with third parties, earthquakes, fires, explosions, storms and floods, and failure of important equipment / system down that takes a longtime recover, supply insecurity of raw materials, violations of laws and corporate ethics, guidance / disposal by administrative authorities, etc. And inconsistencies in the industry group policies and targets for climate change issues are also included in all of these risks. There is a lot of external engagement and in some cases it doesn't fit the Company strategy. When discrepancies are reported as information, policies are swiftly decided to ensure consistency within the organization and coordinate strategies.
