The policy is periodically reviewed by the KAP social and ethics committee, which is both a statutory committee and a committee of the board of directors of KAP (the "Board"). The role of this committee is to assist the Board with oversight and reporting on organisational ethics, responsible corporate citizenship, sustainable development and stakeholder relationships in order to create value, taking into consideration the triple context of the economy, society and the natural environment within which KAP operates.

Under the guidance of the SEC and the human capital and remuneration committee, KAP maintains open and transparent relationships with key government institutions and other regulatory authorities through engagement and active participation in industry associations, communities and local authorities and other structures to further our business objectives. [...] KAP engages with government institutions and regulators, both directly and through industry bodies, to participate in conversations that shape continental, regional and national trade and industrial policy outcomes to support our strategy and values. We have formulated a government relations strategy to guide and enhance interactions with government and regulatory institutions. Our businesses also participate in various sector forums which participate in industry master plans to facilitate the achievement of various policy objectives, including the government's industrialisation strategy, trade policy goals and South Africa's climate strategy and environmental and waste management legislation.
