Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]Our climate change strategy is summed up in our climate action goals in our 2030 ESG Vision and 2040 net zero pledge. The strategy revolves around continuing to be carbon neutral, continuing to reduce absolute scopes of emissions close to zero through action, and actively engaging with stakeholders. This strategy is indirectly aiming at retaining and further forging our position as a global climate action leader.
The policy advocacy that we undertake, or support is directly connected to the above strategy and goals. Our work in the policy area falls into energy/sustainability of built space, renewable energy, and other clean technologies, and initiatives supporting global policy shifts that support/facilitate climate action. Energy/sustainability of built space and renewables & clean technologies are two key pillars of our carbon neutral program. The global initiatives help us in global leadership strategy.
The teams that are engaged with external organizations have clearly defined goals with objectives aligned to our climate change strategy. For example, the President, Head of Green Initiatives/Facilities who works on advocacy of renewable power, offsets, BCMS plan, and ESG, and the Regional Head Infrastructure who works on energy/sustainability of built space and clean technologies, lead the climate action space for Infosys. Therefore, all engagements and advocacy efforts are aligned to our carbon neutrality, net zero, ESG 2030 vision, and RE 100 commitments. The green initiate team has a target of reducing energy consumption, water usage, waste, and transitioning to a low-carbon economy. The strategy is reviewed on a quarterly basis and budgets are allocated on yearly basis to run the programs. The inputs derived from the committee and board-level discussions are cascaded down to the respective teams to take action or influence the policymakers to align with our Infosys strategy.
Our work with external organizations is taken up by different units like green Initiatives, Risk council, Facilities, etc. These are periodically reviewed at the board level committee of ESG, CSR, and Risk Management committee along with inputs from the President, Head, and other senior leaders in the company to streamline it with the Climate Change strategy of Infosys.
