Unisem M Bhd discloses an extensive sustainability governance framework but does not address lobbying oversight within this structure. The Board receives support from an ESG Committee (ESGC) “entrusted with the responsibilities of evaluating, advising on, and making recommendations concerning the sustainability strategies and policies of the Group,” and Senior Management “spearheads the formulation and execution of sustainability strategies, initiatives, and risk management practices.” The ESGC “conducts periodic assessments of Senior Management’s implementation progress in relation to sustainability matters,” and Management-level ESG Working Committees “oversee and monitor the implementation of sustainability strategies” at operational sites. However, we found no evidence of any policies, procedures, or oversight bodies dedicated to governing direct or indirect lobbying activities, no disclosure of a lobbying alignment review process, and no specific individual or formal body tasked with lobbying oversight in relation to the company’s sustainability or climate objectives.
