Kraft Heinz has implemented "effective compliance procedures for, and oversight of, lobbying activities, corporate contributions and Kraft Heinz PAC political expenditures," including a requirement that "all employees must receive approval in advance from the Global Head of Government Affairs before making any political contributions." At a minimum, "The Kraft Heinz Board of Directors receives an annual update on political and lobbying activities and discusses with management their strategies and recommendations." It further established a "Corporate and Government Affairs ESG Subcommittee to align ESG imperatives with our external engagement activities including political advocacy," and the Board "receives regular updates on Kraft Heinz ESG matters, including climate related." However, the company does not disclose a dedicated policy or procedure to assess the alignment of its lobbying with its climate strategy or to engage with trade associations on climate; when asked about a commitment to align its engagement with the goals of the Paris Agreement, it replies "No, and we do not plan to have one in the next two years."
