Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]The Corporate Environment Division coordinates, at corporate level, all activities related to the environmental aspects of the Group's activities, including climate change. It has formal communication channels, develops joint projects, issues guidelines and collects information from the Environment Departments of our three geographies (Portugal, Poland and Colombia).
It also works closely with another corporate level structure, the Corporate Communications and Responsibility Division that is responsible, amongst other, for the strategic management of Jerónimo Martins brand and for strengthening the integration of environmental, social and ethical issues in the value chain. The senior manager responsible for the Corporate Communications and Responsibility Functional Division reports directly to the company's CEO and is also a member of the Managing Committee.
Company representation at international/global trade associations (CGF, EuroCommerce) is conducted at corporate level, by members of the Environmental and Communications and Corporate Responsibility Functional Divisions. The company's CEO is a member of CGF's Board of Directors. Company representation at national trade associations (APED, POHiD and FENALCO), is conducted at national level, by the Environment Departments of the Group's distribution companies in each geography where it operates (Portugal, Poland and Colombia, respectively).
This model of internal organization, responsibility and coordination ensures the consistency of our policy engagement actions – namely those conducted through our participation in trade associations - with the company's climate change strategy and its public position on the issue.

Attach commitment or position statement(s)[…]1 - We Mean Business Coalition - Responsible Climate Policy commitment: We are members of the We Mean Business Coalition, having publicly committed to Responsible Climate Policy, as defined by the principles set forth in the Guide for Responsible Corporate Engagement in Climate Policy, published by the United Nation's Caring for Climate initiative (commitment attached).
2 - BCSD Portugal "Towards COP 26" Manifesto - We are members of the Business Council for Sustainable Development Portugal (BCSD Portugal), part of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) global network. Together with other members of BCSD Portugal, in August 2021, our CEO signed an open letter to governments, calling for ambitious climate policy progress to be achieved in COP26, as a crucial step to achieving the Paris Agreement objectives. 3 - EU Climate Pact Pledge - In July 2021, Jerónimo Martins joined the EU Climate Pact, part of the European Green Deal, thus further endorsing the EU's climate policy goals, including the Paris Agreement aligned objective of reaching climate neutrality by 2050 (pledge attached).
