Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]Sound Corporate Governance principles form the foundation for the management of the company. We strive for consistent and transparent management practices so that all our stakeholders can reliably assess the company's sustainable operations and development. The Corporate Governance principles approved by the Board of Directors form the basis for the management and governance of our company. Our mission, vision, values and our Code of Conduct guide all our operations and stakeholder interaction. We are committed to good corporate governance principles by complying with national and international laws and regulations. Additionally, we apply best practices, such as the Finnish Corporate Governance Code for listed companies, in our management and governance.

Local management ensures compliance with guidelines and local legislation affecting employees. Our values and Code of Conduct ensure that our operations are consistent and uniform, regardless of the country and reporting segment. The President's and CEO's, as well as Metso Outotec Executive Team's (MOET) responsibilities include focusing on sustainability and its management. Our business management's and supervisors' responsibility is to ensure that our employees are familiar with the legislation, regulations and internal operating guidelines of their respective areas of responsibility and that our employees comply with them. Our key principles related to good governance and corporate ethics form a separate section on our intranet, which is accessible to all our employees.

In 2021 we also developed a new sustainability training package for all employees where climate targets and our approach to sustainability and climate change is communicated. Metso Outotec has defined sustainability as a strategic priority in 2020 and has set its commitment to limit the increase of global average temperature to 1.5 °C as one of its financial targets to measure value creation. Our approach to climate change is therefore communicated to all employees also as part of the strategy implementation.
