Lobbying Governance

Italmobiliare SpA provides only high-level references to ensuring that any public-facing advocacy is consistent with its climate objectives but does not publish a dedicated lobbying-governance framework. In its CDP response the company states that its engagement activities must be "consistent with your overall climate change strategy […] Code of Ethics and Sustainability Policies set the value proposition" and further that consistency with its transition plan is "Clearly required by Code of Ethics." This indicates a declared intention to align external engagement – which implicitly covers lobbying – with its climate commitments. Governance of sustainability more broadly is overseen by "the Committee for Sustainability and Social Responsibility, set up in 2020 and chaired by the Chief Executive Officer," yet none of the accompanying disclosures explain how this committee (or any other body) specifically reviews, monitors or signs off lobbying positions, nor do they mention assessments of trade-association positions, escalation procedures, or corrective actions. The Organisation, Management and Control Model and the Supervisory Body described in the Corporate Governance Report focus on preventing corruption and other offences and make no reference to climate-policy advocacy. Overall, while the company references the Code of Ethics as the standard against which engagement must align, we found no evidence of a dedicated process, monitoring mechanism, or named individual responsible for ensuring that direct or indirect lobbying is in line with its climate strategy.
