Aside from these targets, Rémy Cointreau reiterated its commitment to:
1- Rémy Cointreau reiterated its commitment to the "French Business Climate Pledge† in 2019 for the 2020/2023 period.
The Group is thus one of French companies that have confirmed their commitment to the use of renewable energy, energy efficiency and the deployment of low-carbon technologies, with the aim of mitigating the effects of climate change by lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
2- NGO Ecoinvent
In 2020, the Group became a member of Ecoinvent, an international NGO specialising in data collection which provides a global and recognised data base for carbon emission factors. A licence has been acquired and some employees were trained on this data base in order to better understand the emission factors selected, based on the types of materials used to make our packaging for example.
3- Act4nature international
Rémy Cointreau has been supporting the "act4nature† initiative since 2018, joining other leading French companies in campaigning for biodiversity. To that end, Rémy Cointreau has signed a collective declaration on the inclusion of nature (fauna, flora, ecosystems, etc.) in the Company's strategy. Ten- and five-year targets have been set and detailed information on each commitment is provided in the annual CSR reporting.
4- In 2021, Rémy Cointreau joined the 4Pour1000 initiative, promoting soils as an ally in the fight against climate change.
5- In January 2022, Rémy Cointreau joined the consortium Glass Futures to help the glass industry to decarbonise itself over the long term. This is the mission of the non-profit organisation Glass Futures, which, with its Global Centre of Excellence, aims to accelerate the sustainable transformation of the glass industry through innovation and collaboration.
6- In 2022, Rémy Cointreau has made a commitment to Fret 21, which supports companies in integrating the impact of transport into their climate strategy.
7- Rémy Cointreau recently announced it joined a group project with the WWF, Moet Hennessy and Genesis to define environmental credits.
All of these initiatives have been impulsed by the CSO and validated by the CEO and/or CSR Committee, along with the respective teams (Supply Chain or Purchasing for instance), depending on the topic.
