Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]As outlined in our Political Activity Policy and Code of Conduct, VGP has a principal policy of no political engagement. Employees may participate in political activities in their own free time and should in no way suggest VGP support. Exceptions may be granted by the Group.
The VGP engagement on climate topics takes place predominantly through participation in government and trade associations. Examples of engagement include:
- Cooperation with CRREM. Cooperation with CRREM has been three fold: i) Through active dialogue with CRREM Management, VGP provided active feedback on the CRREM Tool (release version June 2021) which resulted in improvements suggestions for November 2021 tool update release. ii) VGP, as only logistics real estate manager, was invited to the UNEP FI TCFD: Real Estate Assessment - CRREM Workshop: Results and Lessons learned organized by the United Nations on 14 September 2021 to help the implementation of CRREM Tool in countries outside the European Union., iii) VGP participated in the CRREM Survey on Transition Risks and is one of the four participants in the autumn 2021 survey (https://www.crrem.eu/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/CRREM-Transition-Risk-Survey.pdf)
- Cooperation with DGNB. VGP is cooperating with the DGNB on a EU Taxonomy/Climate Change Mitigation study which is supported by the Climate Positive Europe Alliance (CPEA). By gaining insights through testing the Taxonomy criteria on real case studies, the study intends to derive recommendations for the EC and to guide the transition of the Taxonomy screening criteria from a technical proposal into functioning system (currently ongoing)
- Cooperation with universities. Several studies conducted by universities each year regarding logistics environmental impact/ climate-change are supported by the Group with data/analytics when feasible
