CapitaLand Ascott Trust has established robust sustainability governance structures—its Boards are “updated regularly on matters relating to sustainability risks and business malpractice incidents,” and it has “formalised a Sustainability Committee which comprises the CEO and Heads of Department of ART’s Managers, and the Heads of Department of the operations and technical teams of its Sponsor,” supported by a “Sustainability Working Committee” that “regularly informs and updates members of CLAS’ Sustainability Committee on climate-related risks and opportunities.” However, we found no evidence the company provides any governance processes specific to its lobbying activities—there is no disclosure of oversight bodies, monitoring procedures, or accountability measures to guide or align direct or indirect lobbying with its climate policy goals.
