Danaher publicly details a prohibition on corporate political spending, stating that “no funds or assets of Danaher have been contributed to or for…any political party or candidate” and that any exception “would require approval by Danaher’s President and CEO,” and it caps trade-association dues that can be used for political purposes at “no more than $25,000…in any calendar year.” While this demonstrates strict control over political contributions, the disclosures focus exclusively on financial donations, and we found no evidence of an internal process that governs how the company develops, monitors, or aligns its direct or indirect lobbying positions with its climate strategy. The Sustainability Committee is described as “responsible for developing, and overseeing the execution of, the Company’s sustainability strategy,” yet the documents do not connect this body to oversight of policy advocacy or trade-association positions, nor is there any “public commitment or position statement to conduct…engagement activities in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement.” Because the oversight described is limited to political spending and does not extend to lobbying activities or climate-policy alignment, the company does not disclose a lobbying-governance framework.
