Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]Because Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. and the electrical industry have adopted the government's strategies as our own, there are no contradictions in strategy.
i) The status of these activities is followed up every year by a government council, and the industry's performance has received the approval of the government.
ii) In the above-mentioned "Plan for the Implementation of a Low Carbon Society† proposed to the Japanese government by JEMA, Fuji Electric took part in this decision as a director of JEMA. Also, the overall strategy of our environmental management is determined by the "Fuji Electric Global Environmental Protection Committee† and it is here that our participation in the plan is determined, as well as making the decision to set a goal for our own company that is above the industry standard.
iii) Fuji Electric's confirmation process: Our company's self set goals are checked against the amount of energy used every month, and against achievement of the overall goal once a year, and this is put together and published in our company's environmental report.
Also, all individual manufacturing facilities*, have acquired ISO14001 certification based on the company wide policy, and implementing continuous improvement activities based on the PDCA cycle.
(*: Excluding 1 factory currently in the process of acquiring ISO 14001 certification because of organizational restructuring.)
